Peptides exist in a privileged drug space between Small Molecules and Antibodies. For this reason, peptide modalities can be a solution to overcome historically undruggable target spaces. De-risking liabilities (e.g., in vivo PK/PD lead optimization, oral bioavailability, cellular permeability to effectively modulate intracellular targets, chemical development, cost of goods, and related drug development challenges) is requisite to realize the market potential of peptide therapeutics.
